THE RUNDOWN |

- Rutgers posted a run in the top of the second. RU loaded the bases off a Maddie Lawson walk and back-to-back singles to left from Payton Lincavage and Katie Wingert. The Gophers were able to stop the Scarlet Knights from plating runs on their next two at-bat, but Jillian Anderson broke through for a single to center to give RU its first run of the afternoon.

The Gophers added two more runs in the third and another in the fourth extending its advantage to 8-1. Morgan DeBoard was the third of three straight base hits resulting in an RBI single to center while Breezy Burnett was able to steal home in the third. - The fourth saw Jess Oakland lead off with a single and score on a Strelow double.
- The Scarlet Knights chipped away with a pair of runs in the sixth. Maddie Lawson kicked off RU's at-bat taking a base after being hit by a pitch and Payton Lincavage followed with a single to left. Wingert doubled off the wall in left to score Lawson and pinch hitter Megan Herka notched an RBI on a groundout to the circle to trail 8-3.

The inning continued with back-to-back singles from Lawson and Lincavage to load the bases.
