Ulysses Walter Frog, known professionally as Mr. Frog, is a character in Smiling Friends. and the primary focus of the episode of the same name.

He is an extremely famous celebrity known for starring in his own show The Mr. Frog Show.

Mr. Frog is an American-Australian comedian, screenwriter, producer and TV personality, best known for hosting the long-running the Mr. Frog Show since the show’s inception in November of 1975, making him one of the longest lasting continuous television show hosts of all time. Frog is one of the most iconic and powerful figures in the TV industry, being the subject of a cult following known as Frogmania at its height during the 80s and 90s, and having a net worth of close to 1,3 billion USD, making him the wealthiest TV personality in the world. Frog is notorious for his cruel and black sense of humor and his extensive employment of insult comedy, which make him a controversial figure among viewers of his show. As of 2023, Frog continues to hold the record for the longest continuously serving TV host of all time, having hosted the Mr. Frog Show for about 48 seasons.

Frog attended the University of Melbourne in Australia, and graduated in 1971. After his graduation, he acted as a screenwriter for Global Production Pictures until 1973, when he moved to the US. In America, he received significant attention for his stand-up shows and SNL skits, however, his rise to stardom happened in 1975, when he became the host of his own show. Upon its inception, TMFS received overall positive reviews from viewers with praise directed at Frog’s writing and humor. The show began to receive steadily increasing positive reviews starting from season 3, and by season 5, had developed a strong cult following. Throughout the 80s and early 90s, the Mr. Frog Show and Frog himself enjoyed a period of immense popularity known as “Frogmania”. Merchandise centered around Frog and his show reached the markets in 1985, transforming the name of Mr. Frog into one of the largest franchises in the TV industry.

Frog was the subject of a January 18th 2022 scandal involving himself and a journalist who was assaulted by him and forcefully placed into his mouth cavity. Although the journalist did not suffer any physical harm, this incident significantly damaged Frog’s reputation, leading to his show’s production team to start looking for new auditions to replace Mr. Frog as the host of the Mr. Frog Show. The journalist involved in the incident later sued Frog for assault. Frog was not convicted, however, his increasingly erratic behavior caused many speculations regarding his mental stability and advancing age. In that same year, Frog was temporarily removed from his show and the show’s production company replaced him with a new and less known TV personality, Glep D. Critter, however, Glep never appeared on any of the show’s official episodes. Frog returned to the show for Season 48 under controversial circ*mstances, assuming the roles of the owner of creative rights, scriptwriter and producer once again.

Despite his controversial legal and moral status, Frog is widely considered to be one of the most popular figures in the American TV industry. Frog is regarded as an American cultural icon and a sex symbol, although he has expressed displeasure with his reputation as the latter. In 2019, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was included as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by the Times in 2021. His other bestowed honors include over 20 TV and media awards, including 7 Emmys.

He is named "one of the richest and most powerful men on the planet". Despite this, he is very unstable and impulsive in his actions, as well as hyperactive in his movements likely caused by substance abuse, he very frequently greets people with a "hello." even midway through conversation.
